We are unable to perform waxing if you:
Have an eczema or psoriasis flare up in the area to be waxed
Are taking prescribed blood thinners
Are using Retin A, Differin or Obagi in the last 3 weeks on the area that will be waxed.
Taking Accutane or have taken Accutane in the last 6 months.
Have had a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or cosmetic procedure in the last 2 weeks on the area to be waxed
I understand the following risks with waxing:
Waxing can cause irritation to skin disorders such as Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea and Acne.
Waxing wounds the follicle and the waxed area can become inflamed and swollen for 24 to 48 hours post treatment. The wounded follicle is at risk of breakouts, infection and deep, ingrown hairs.
Waxing will lighten areas where sunless tanning products have been used or where the skin has had sun exposure.
Sun exposure after waxing can cause the skin to burn and become irritated. Use of sunscreen is recommended.
Waxing can cause delicate, thin and sensitive areas of the skin to lift especially after use of exfoliating products, dry skin patches or where there is most friction against the skin. (underwear, jeans, etc.)
Due to the possibilities of reactions to waxing, we do not recommend waxing treatments less than 10 days prior to special events or weddings. Skin and Tonic can not be held responsible for any reaction you may have as a result of your service.
This waxing appointment is designated a specific amount of time to complete. If the service time must be extended beyond the designated time, the cost of service will increase.
